Frida has business experience of all kinds of patent-related issues, such as patent application work world wide, performing freedom-to-operate analyses and infringement investigations.
Frida assists clients with patent issues of strategic importance and with global patent protection. Most of her clients are small and medium-sized enterprises in research-intensive industries. She is working as an in-house patent coordinator for a client company at the research park IDEON in Lund. Her in-house work involves close cooperation with the scientists at early development stages, performing patentability analyses, giving strategic advice and being a general IP resource to the staff.
She has also experience in filing and prosecuting SPC (Supplementary Protection Certificates) applications as well as paediatric extension applications for particular drugs in Sweden.
Frida’s specialist areas are life sciences with a focus on pharmaceuticals, gene engineering, biochemistry, peptides, food stuff and microbiology, especially yeasts/microorganisms for producing certain materials to be used in different applications. She also works within process technology, and polymer technology.
Frida also leads the work of one of the business units.
Frida has additionally been involved in working with clients from Japan and Korea, which has involved annual visits to these countries. In addition, Frida has attended the APAA (Asian Patent Attorneys Association) conference, where she also has been a lecturer of the upcoming unitary patent system in Europe.
From 2014 Frida is also an alternate director of the Board of AWA Holding AB.

Prior experience
Frida completed her studies in 1996 with a degree project at Tokyo University in Japan. She has been working at AWA since 1997.
