Julia Hammes
Julia joined AWA as an Associate at the Gothenburg office in 2019. She drafts and prosecutes patent applications and assists clients with novelty searches and patentability investigations. Stemming from her background in academia, Julia works mainly within the fields of pharmaceuticals, chemistry and life sciences.

Julia works with clients ranging from start-ups to multinational corporations, and in particular assists companies to protect their rights from an early stage.
She has a BSc & MSc in Environmental Science and earned her Ph.D in Atmospheric Chemistry from the University of Gothenburg in 2019. Her research focused on radical chemistry and chemical mechanisms behind the formation of secondary organic aerosol. Prior to her Ph.D degree, she spent one year at the University of Gothenburg as a researcher analyzing the environmental fate of engineered nanoparticles.
