Joanna works in close collaboration with clients and inventors. Her main focus areas are biological and small molecule pharmaceuticals, protein engineering, antibodies, immunology, vaccine development, cell therapy as well as stem cells and neurobiology.

Joanna is involved in drafting and prosecution of patent applications, patentability evaluations, IP strategies, Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses and IP due diligence.

She has a M.Sc. in Engineering Biology and received her Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the Karolinska Institute. Joanna has a particularly deep understanding of developmental biology and neurobiology, including stem cells and cell differentiation from her time as an academic researcher.

Joanna is also an experienced lecturer and provides expert patent analysis and commentary to leading industry publications on topics such as Crispr-Cas9 technology.
